Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra - Rachmaninoff and Dvorak
Come and join us for an evening of romantic classics.
The concert starts with Weber’s Oberon Overture which takes us to a realm of knights and forest spirits from the very first notes played by the solo horn – the magical instrument of the Elf King. Katya Grabova then joins the orchestra for one of the most loved works in the repertoire: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, famed for its soaring melodies, intense passion, and lush orchestration. The evening concludes with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 5. Often called his "Pastoral" symphony, it is one of his sunniest pieces, capturing the rustic charm and folk-inspired rhythms of the Bohemian countryside and filled with glorious melodies.
