From Purcell to Puccini via Verdi and Wagner, a selection of opera choruses will be sung by the Medici Choir with soprano and baritone soloists.
This well-known London choir's Summer Opera Gala will include the Chorus of The Hebrew Slaves (Va Pensiero) from Verdi’s opera Nabucco, arguably the most famous of all opera choruses, as well arias, ensembles and choruses from Bizet’s Carmen, Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, and the exciting Polovtsian Dances from Borodin’s Prince Igor, among many more.
For all lovers of opera and choral music, this is a concert not to be missed. Accompanied by Benedict Lewis-Smith, and directed by David Gostick.
