Great Little Orchestra - Songs of the Wayfarer Symphony No 1

The Great Little Orchestra (GLO) is a new, fully professional chamber ensemble made up of top-level players from across London's orchestras. We not only perform chamber music, but also brilliant new arrangements of standard classics, kids’ concerts, music workshops and invitation concerts. Recent programmes included Ravel String Quartet, Debussy L'Apres Midi d'un Faune, Strauss Four Last Songs, Schoenburg, Handel, Mozart, Bach, Barber, Satie, Gershwin, Mariah Carey and Thelonius Monk. This is an ensemble that does not want to be pigeonholed!

Our project in June at St Gabriel’s has a unique twist.

We will be joined by Roderick Williams OBE to sing Mahler's ‘Songs of the Wayfarer’ and make his world conducting debut in Mahler's 1st Symphony. Both works have been brilliantly arranged for 16 players. This is a natural step for such a consummate musician - singer, composer, and now conductor.

June 18th marks the GLO’s debut at St Gabriel’s and we hope you will join us for a glorious evening of stunning music of the highest quality.

Thursday, June 18th, 2026. 7.30pm.
